Our History
Foundation
Wuxi Diesel Engine Works was founded in 1943 in Wuxi, China. This marked the beginning of FAWDE’s long history in diesel engine manufacturing and technological innovation.
Integration into FAW Group
In October 2017, FAWDE was officially established through the integration of Wuxi Diesel Engine Works, DEUTZ (Dalian) Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., and other FAW engine R&D centers. This merger created a unified and modern power system division under FAW Group.
Expansion of R&D and Manufacturing Bases
By 2022, FAWDE had grown into one of China’s major engine R&D and manufacturing hubs, with advanced facilities in Wuxi, Changchun, and Dalian. Strong innovation capabilities positioned FAWDE at the forefront of engine technology.
Celebrating 70 Years of Excellence
In 2023, FAW Group celebrated its 70th anniversary. FAWDE played a key role in this milestone, showcasing its heritage, engineering strength, and commitment to delivering high-end, reliable power systems worldwide.
